Jakub Polomski is a landscape and travel photographer based in Poland and UK. Mountains is his favorite subject of photographs.
His first camera was bought in 2005 which was for ordinary use only without interest in photography at all. However, when Jakub was inspired by images which he saw in one issue of National Geographic magazine, he determined to try shooting some landscapes since he had a lot of free time.
Because of living in breathtaking location, Jakub began taking shots of landscapes in nearby places. Inspiration, motivation, knowledge, and - very important - feedback came from websites on which other photographers post their photos to get review.
After two years of practices, Jakub won his first award in a photo competition. In 2010, he was awarded with National Geographic statuette gained for the first place in category "Polish Landscape". And three months later, in another competition, Jakub was rewarded with one-week trip to Patagonia. However, that trip was not only a trip for him.
When Jakub came back from Patagonia, his photographs about that trip got international exposure. That was a strong influence on Jakub Polomski's decision to go professional.
